A couple of things:
- We have decided to proclaim today as 'Do Over Sunday'. After countless hours spent slouched over the computer screen going over each and every username (over hundreds, dude) trying to figure out what and what not to count, we've decided to void out all results for those two or three questionable polls from July. New ones will be going up sometime today and we look forward to crowning our first champions from those particular tourney brackets. Remember that all pairings that reach Round #4 automatically move on regardless of whether they win their tourney bracket. And we'll hopefully get to the ultimate showdown by the end of this month. *fingers crossed*
- During the final showdown you'll have a number of votes to spread around to your favorites. The pairings/threesomes with the top ten scores will become our 1st EVAH TOP TEN OF HOTNESS (sort of like very own homecoming court only... NOT). And the 'ship with the highest score will be our FAIREST AND HOTTEST OF ALL. We're thinking artwork of some kind featuring them will grace our user info and maybe *hint hint* (if a kind fan steps forward) a new community header for the year until we do it all over again. *hands*
- There will be a few matches that we'll need you re-vote on as they were inadvertently set up incorrectly or skipped over in the sea of over 400 'ships. Don't worry! The results of these match-ups will not affect what has already been settled up to now. We don't foresee any problems; just trying to tie up all loose ends before the finals.

Date: 2009-09-08 05:45 am (UTC)And I'm not just saying this because I'm a yaoi fangirl. I know from experience that most couples in BL manga aren't very believable or seem to have relationships based more on lust than any real love or shared interests. Dee/Ryo is one of the few exceptions to that rule; as cocky and impulsive as Dee can be, he's got a solid heart of gold and never pushes Ryo into doing anything he doesn't want to do, and as naive as Ryo may appear to be, he's got a serious temper and stubbornness when pushed too far. They both have messed-up pasts and backgrounds, and help each other overcome them. All the while doing their duties as cops and befriending teenagers Bikky and Carol (who soon become like family to them).
In other words, there's a genuine emotional connection and understanding formed between Dee and Ryo before they get around to the declarations of love and physical stuff, which makes their relationship a lot more poignant and meaningful than many other fictional couples. They're one of the few yaoi couples that can really stand up to the more mainstream het couples in terms of "love and understand each other more than enough to spend their rest of their lives together."
Unfortunately, FAKE doesn't have a lot of pics floating around (especially when compared to the more well-known Gravitation), but there's still enough for a small picspam!
(The last one's apparently from the second season of FAKE, and the boy between Dee and Ryo is Bikky who's pretty much their adopted son.)
