Title: I Knew I'd Be With You One Day
Author: [livejournal.com profile] ladyairy
Fandom: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Pairing: Anthony Hope and Johanna Barker
Spoilers: Some major spoilers for the stage musical and libretto, minor for the 2007 movie
Notes: This manifesto references the original stage production, and musical book by Hugh Wheeler. Some incidents were changed for the 2007 film, as well as, according to a friend who saw it, the revival with Patti LuPone.
Quotes with names in all caps (e.g. ANTHONY) are from stage directions from Hugh Wheeler’s book. Text in brackets (e.g. [meaning Johanna]) are notes I've added for clarification. Quotes in italics (e.g. “I have sailed the world/And seen its wonders”) are song lyrics. Plain quotes are spoken dialogue from the musical.

Title: "I Should Tell You ..." An Exploration of the Relationship Between Mark Cohen and Roger Davis in Jonathan Larson's RENT
Author: [livejournal.com profile] emilystarr1
Fandom: RENT (musical)
Pairing: Mark/Roger
Spoilers: For RENT, and a little bit of the NYTW version.
Word Count: About 7,500 words.
Disclaimer: I own nothing. No lyrics, characters, nothin'.

Notes: All quotes, unless otherwise noted, are from the Libretto of RENT included in the book “RENT by Jonathan Larson”, HarperCollins 1997, hereafter cited in text. Text references are to act, scene, and line(s) of the Libretto in this edition. Thank you to everyone who read this (you know who you are :)), and thanks to [livejournal.com profile] allfireburns and [livejournal.com profile] starletfallen for the information regarding the Pyramid club. :)

This little manifesto is image-heavy. I used different casts throughout the years, but kept the same Mark and Roger - Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal - for simplicity's sake. (What? And because of my love of Adam? Shhhhh. >>)

One last thing - I read and loved [livejournal.com profile] harmonyangel's Mark/Roger manifesto here. I thought it was incredible and so enjoyable. (Obviously! :D) I just wanted to focus more on defending my belief that Mark/Roger actually is canon. I write about the libretto and pairing chronologically, presenting my evidence. There are fanfic recommendations at the end, but there's no focus on why I love it or a specific background of the characters, or any talk of specific performances. (More's the pity! :p) So, yeah, the point of this particular Manifesto? Check the icon. Their love is so canon!

Believe it or not, I use Photoshop professionally at my job...Yeah, I wouldnt' believe it from this graphic, either.

Fandom: Newsies
Pairing: Spot Conlon/Racetrack Higgins (Also known as SpRace)
Spoilers: The movie.
Notes: Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] poisonivory for telling me about this, encouraging me to write the SpRace essay, and beta reading. And thanks to [livejournal.com profile] queenitsy for helping me outline the essay and figure out how to put my SpRacey thoughts on paper. (Or you know, into an LJ entry)

Newsies: one of the slashiest Disney movies in existence. Filled with many pretty singing dancing boys who jump all over each other every five seconds.

Strangely, the two characters I’m about to talk about don’t really jump all over each other, yet their personalities are so compatible that they are my OTP, and one of the most (if not the most) popular pairings in the fandom.
