IT'S COMPLETELY RANDOM. So you get huge fandom 'ships competing against infinitesimal ones. T^T It's very sad.

Well, unfortunately, that's the only way we can keep it unbiased. The whole goal was to make it random so that we couldn't influence who competed against who. I'm sorry that this format upsets you so. *hands*

I understand. Plus, with the hundreds, if not thousands, of fandoms out there, it would be tough to be fair unless you have someone who know ALL of them and their sizes. XD
