Warnings: 1) I suck at this, 2) may contain spoilers - for the end of Tokyo Babylon, a little for the middle of Avatar Book 2 (Earth).

Also, I fail at life so don't expect genius here.

Here goes:
Kai/Tyson (Beyblade): In case you don’t know, this is the most adorable rival!ship ever. I’m probably not the best person to be making a case for them as I never actually watched Beyblade, but I’ve heard about it at great length from a friend and will concur that it is squishy. Tyson is the cute, fluffy one, Kai the reserved, emo-ish one (something involving being experimented on in Russia… I think??). Anyway, if your amenable to being swayed, they’re cute. And I don’t know anything about Loveless so I can’t give pros/cons with the two, but I can vouch that this pairing is adorable.

Kyoko/Ren (Skip Beat): I’m only about ten episodes into Skip Beat, as well, but basically – Kyoko goes into showbiz to get revenge on her ex-crush-slash-childhood-friend who is a complete bastard, and Ren is his major rival and they work for the same agency thing and – it’s just cute, okay? Once again, I know very very little about Prince of Tennis – only that it probably has a larger fandom than Skip Beat. :(

Jet/Zuko (Avatar): This is against Transformers and I can totally see why you would possibly like Megatron/Starscream, but these two are the BEST EVER and this is difficult to explain but I will try. For those of you who know nothing of Avatar: Zuko is the exiled prince of the evil Fire Nation (who are trying to take over the world) whose father burnt his face. He is a complete dork and really hot, and actually good despite being the major antagonist for the first season and a half and then again later on a bit, and he has an awesome uncle who drinks tea. Jet is an Earth Kingdom peasant whose home village was burnt down when he was 8, and he is now a freedom fighter who lives with a whole lot of children in treehouses in the forest and he’s REALLY hot. They meet on the ferry to Ba Sing Sei, an earth kingdom fortress town, and join their forces to be really uber hot and cause chaos. They work so well on a variety of different levels, and are hot. Evidence? Here, have some:

Seishirou/Subaru (Tokyo Bablyon/X) vs. Haruhi Suzumiya/Kyon
This is the pairing I’m most worried about because I don’t know how many people know the awesomeness that is Sei/Sub. I will grant that Haruhi/Kyon is cute, because it is – but Sei/Sub has that level of ohmygosh that is still making it hard for me to breathe and breaks my heart. Also, is probably the closest to an OTP that a fanslut like me will ever get. Subaru – young innocent sixteen-year-old onmyouji (user of yin-yang magic). Seishirou – evil, emotionless assassin called the Sakurazukamori, posing as a veterinarian. The Bet: Seishirou meets Subaru when he is 9 (Sei-chan is 18) and makes a bet that when they meet again, he will stay with him for a year and try to love him (Subaru knows nothing, so it's not exactly fair, is it?). A lot of stuff happens that is cute and then heartbreaking and if you want to know the VERY DEPRESSING ENDING, it’s been out for over ten years and you should have no problem finding it. But they are the best thing ever. I shall attempt to find evidence.

Let's do a cracktastic campaign for Tom Paris/B'Elanna Torres.

You know what the first episode of any Trek I ever watched was?

Blood Fever.

It involves a randy Vulcan sending B'Elanna into an induced Pon Farr (aka Vulcan Heat) and then stranding her in a cave with Tom, the guy who's been flirting with her for four years.

Sexy hijinks ensue.

The episode ends on B'Elanna beating shit out of the randy Vulcan to release all the sexual tension.

But the important thing is that the hotness of Tom and B'Elanna made me go 'holy fuck...why am I not watching this show?'

And thus a trekkie was born.

(I'm enjoying writing these mini-manifestos. They're kinda fun :-D) ETA: Uh, pressed 'submit' too soon XD Sorry? Here's the final draft.

I don't have my hand on the pulse of the Battlestar Galactica fandom, but I used to watch the show and must admit that Felix Gaeta/Gauis Baltar sounds really hot. But is 'hot' all you should consider when voting in this poll?

Okay, maybe it is ... but Jadzia/Worf has its share of hotness, while also being adorable, heartwarming, and sad (sad in a good way? Trust me on this).


~That's Jadzia. She's a Trill, and is the eighth individual to host the Dax symbiote. Due to the nature of the symbiotic relationship, Jadzia carries the memories of all previous hosts. The seventh host, Curzon, had strong ties to the Klingon Empire, being both respected by the Klingons for his part in the Klingon/Federation alliance, and knowledgable of their culture. Curzon's connection to the Empire has remained an important part of Jadzia's life, and she maintains many of his friendships. This no doubt contributed to her developing a relationship with Worf. And those spots? Go all the way down.
~The guy either overwhelmed by emotion or staring at her breasts is Worf, son of Mogh. Orphaned at a young age, he was raised by a human couple and later decided to join Starfleet, making him the first Klingon ever to do so. Worf himself admits that he is not an easy person to get along with, and the previous relationship (resulting in his son) failed. He is, however, a good officer and a good person, and deserves the happiness he gets with Jadzia. His likes include Opera and prune juice (a beverage of warriors!).

The Beginning of Worf and Dax (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jsfj2dk6KNg): Jadzia initiates a Klingon mating ritual ...and they have such rough sex that they end up in sickbay. Bonus: Dr. Bashir is adorably awkward.

Dax and Worf's Wedding (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4OpNWjaI5w): They have a Klingon ceremony. Seriously, listen to it - the Klingons believe that two Klingon hearts destroyed their gods. That's how seriously they take marriage, and that's how strong Jadzia and Worf's relationship is.

Worf and Jadzia Enjoying Themselves (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDEsh5len-M): Jadzia and Worf bicker about their honeymoon, which quickly devolves into, uh, more general bickering. If this doesn't make you laugh, I don't think anything can. (And when Worf says, "Did you want to fight over it?" you can see the smirk on his face!)

And then Jadzia tragically dies D-: This is bad enough, of course, but then the next Dax host actually TAKES A POSITION ON DS9, therefore making Worf face this Dax-that-is-not-his-Dax for the rest of the series. It breaks my heart, you guys. I Still Miss You (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbpS5ApV-s8) is a fantastic vid about Worf's grieving process, and includes many clips from his and Jadzia's relationship.
