And so it begins (again)!

Even though we will crown an eventual champion from each of the four tournament sections, a total of 8 pairings will move on from here to battle it out to be ship_manifesto's hottest ship for 2009. So don't worry if your favorite doesn't make it to the to the Final Four; we're taking all who remain standing during the Elite 8 round onto the final showdown.

Since some of us may be undecided about who to vote for in today's poll we'd welcome your sound and reasoned arguments as to why your pick should move on the next round (please feel free to include lots of hot photographic evidence to substantiate your claim ). It will certainly be appreciated by your mods.

There will be a Part II to this Battle Royale wherein your remaining picks will battle it out to join our Part I winners for the August finale.

Please feel free to skip over any pairings you're not familiar with or have little interest in.
