Giles/Oz has been my pairing of choice for a while now whenever I'm in the mood for quiet. Not peaceful, neccessarily, but quiet. That's what I love about their dynamic and you expressed that quality perfectly in this essay.
There is something else they have in common, however. Both of them know what it is like to be taken over by something more than themselves: Oz with his wolf and Giles with Eyghon. Both of them keep themselves under tight control because of this experience, and both are a bit afraid of who he might be without that control. I don't know that I've ever seen this theme explored in fanfiction; do you think you could point me at such a story?
