I second (or is it third?) the other posters's suggestion of adding more. I'd love to see more of why they would work because I think there is a lot there.
But of what is written, I love and will add to my memories. The only thing I'd quibble with is the statement of "Ishida is a dork in disguise." It is only a minor though. Ishida wears his "dorkiness" pretty close to the surface. The sewing, the braininess, the weird clothes, the extra cape... He doesn't really disguise that he's an aloof stiff.
But on the inside, he's really a cool, caring guy. He can be a spaz but it is no more than the other guys in the series. Ichigo's little breakdown in Ep 41 (anime) was the ultimate spaz moment. Gads, but I'm still embarassed for him. Of course, we'll see if Ishida fares any better in Ep 42. *g*
But anyhow, the reasons I like Ishida and Orihime is that he appreciates her, he gives her credit when she brushes off her accomplishments, he indulges her when she's being eccentric without any judgment and he protects her without making huge declarations. He just does it quietly without expecting anything in return from her for his efforts.
Yep, the more I think about it, the more they seem right.
Thank you for this essay and I hope to see more added. *;-)
