When I first saw the film, I went "Huh. That's a bit slashy."
And then I bought the soundtrack.
Good lord. It's the soundtrack that cements this thing for me. If you don't have it, there are a bunch of songs that aren't in the film, and... oh my.
I mean, along with "Friends Never Say Goodbye", there's "The Panic in Me" (For a few perfect hours/The world lets me be/You know how to calm down/The panic in me), and "My Heart Dances". Good lord, "My Heart Dances". I... yes. "I see you in the distance and I see us as we are/So nearly so contented but a careless word to far/I see you in confusion for a once enchanted boy/My heart dances, but not for joy"
I... I... yeah. Even "Someday Out of the Blue" and "Without Question" make no sense if they're about Tulio/Chel. I mean, these are songs about an established relationship.
The soundtrack is slashier than the film. I swear.
