For Gary, that change happens during “The Iceman Cometh,” when he eschews The Paper in order to save Toni’s life.
One of my most favorite moments in all of the series. The way he just threw it aside without even a moment's hesitation? Wow. That action spoke volumes.
Great fic recs, and I second them all! I have yet to check out any of Scheherzade’s fic, however, and I don't know why. I've heard nothing but good about them. I think I just need more time in the day.
