^-^ this is a great essay! You really captured all the great points about Jack and David. They are equals, and that's what is so great about their relationship. I better stop myself before I turn into a giggling puddle (I live in a dorm... I don't think my neighbors share my Newsies enthusiasm).
Anyway, I just wanted to mention a Javid moment that I don't think you included, I only just saw it myself (I am so happy right now):
During Seize the Day, after the "mini dance war", Jack and David climb onto the statue and play footsie, and then you can see them dancing with their arms around each others shoulders! O.O I know it is just part of the dance, but in my slightly... okay, not so slightly, slashy fangirl mind, this screams "UNNECESSARILY AFFECTIONATE BOYS TOUCHING!" So I had to make sure everyone else was aware.
