Kelli, this was a wonderful essay, and thanks for reminding me why Erik/Christine was my first ship. Way back when I was twelve, I first saw the ALW show on Broadway, and got completely hooked. I was shipping E/C back before I knew what shipping was - all I knew was that Raoul didn't deserve her. I liked your sharing of your own experiences with the pairing, and much love from me for reccing "Demons". I've never read such an amazing story, so thank you so much for pointing it out.
I agree completely about Gerard Butler, though I'll admit to disliking him the first time I saw the movie. Cause he's NOT Crawford, and I grew up hearing Crawford's beautifully seductive take on the role. Repeated viewings of the movie made me appreciate Butler's more obsessive spin on it. And "Point of No Return" didn't hurt, either.
