I think my point is that the inception fandom has so many fanworks beyond the kink memes that it has to be noted that the kink meme is only a part. You're right, I do not frequent the kink memes so I have no doubt the quality is high. I've come to find that most works within the Inception fandom are on the higher end of fandom work. I just felt that since there are so many amazing works in the inception fandom it's hard for anyone to compete.
This in itself is wonderful because it's a movie! It is one set of events, not episodes over a long period but just one 2 hour set and yet we have so many amazing works, kink memes and out. It's a blessing!
