Wait, did we watch the same show? For whatever reason he did of course know, he knew all the time. That's why Rudger was talking of the darkness of Yuseis heart even before he told the whole story about the momentum. Yusei kept all this hurt hidden within himself for all those years, and during the duel he couldn't hold back anymore, causing him to break down and cry. And I quote Crow here: "Yusei, you've been living all this time shouldering those emotions, haven't you? Forgive me. I'm your friend and I never once noticed."
"Crow, Jack, Malcolm, Nico, West, hmm do I need to go on?"
No, it'd be sufficient to me if you'd tell me one conversation Kiryu had with Jack or Crow, his other Team Satisfaction members (!), that lasted longer than Statement - Answer - Retort. Because there never was, as far as I can remember. He was on the same screen as all these guys, I give you that. But saying Yusei is the one Kiryu has the most chemistry with is a bit funny to me, given that Yusei's really the only character he has proper interaction with ;)
