You're so right, I love it when people can actually discuss and interpret the pairing. When I looked through the manifestos here, I saw pairings where I was all like "Huh, why's there a manifesto at all, it's already canon anyway!" or just random pairings of people who never met or have almost no basis. Though I guess it is fun to read a different POV on these things!
And then the pairings that are like ZoSan (a lot of hints that could be interpreted, but not canon) usually pick out every single little scene that could be seen in their favor. That's when I realized how much Zoro-Sanji have. If we really picked out EVERY scene there would be sooo much! I realized this after only looking through the Arlong arc, so many panels of them together. XD When I think about it, I guess these non-canon pairings with a lot of subtext are my favorites. When it's canon already it's usually not as much fun in fandom, same thing when there's too little to go on with.
Yes, I think because it is such a popular pairing even on a skin-deep level (two hot guys who always fight), you might get tired of it but if you look closely, there's actually so much more besides that!
