I've been pitying Sakura for a while now, but Sai's explanation in chapter 474 really amplified it. Poor girl...
Even if I don't like NaruSaku as romance, I like the friendship between the two. Part of it comes from being a huge Team 7 fan and wanting all the bonds on the team to be strong, but it mostly comes from the fact that Naruto really has matured a lot in how he behaves towards Sakura, and their bond has grown because of it.
I agree so much with your last paragraph. I support SasuSaku, but that doesn't mean I don't think that Naruto and Sasuke have the strongest bond in the manga (and one of the most amazing bonds as well). I hate how it's often treated as though that stronger bond means that Sasuke felt absolutely nothing for Sakura, despite all the evidence to the contrary. He didn't fall in love with her, but she was still his precious teammate.
