I agree, he didn't give her false hope or kill her hope all together, he just left it ambiguous. It didn't seem like closure at all to me. I don't know what Sasuke feels for Sakura, but his 'thank you' gave me the impression Sasuke is reluctant to let any of his bonds go. He tries to cut them off but he can never completely do that (KB Team 7 flashback). I don't think he had it in him to say that that was goodbye forever and it has to be resolved sometime before the manga ends, and if there is supposed to be a happy ending then it looks good for this pairing.
