I agree with this excellent manifesto on all counts. Although I am mainly a Arthur/Merlin (funny and USTish and with genuine strong feelings behind all the banter, even if they're not canonically romantic) and Morgana/Gwen (they're just so damn passionate about each other and their friendship that it makes my throat ache) shipper, I thouroughly enjoy the relationships between all the main characters, and Arthur/Morgana is one of my favourites. That's why it irritates me that the creators seem to be pushing aside Merlin/Gwen (which was canonically at least one-sided during season one) and Arthur/Morgana (who were clearly intended to have some serious UST between them) in order to rush into Arthur/Gwen. Luckily the chemistry of the actors and the basic sweetness of the pairing itself seems to be saving the day and making it fairly believable, but I wish they could have built it up a bit more and introduced it without pushing aside previous semi-canonical couples.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say in my long-winded, run-on sentence full way is, that was a great essay and really captured the essence of the pairing. Well done!
