On the other hand I tend to think every scene they are together in is subtexty.
I feel that way about all of my favorite "NCIS" pairings (both het and slash). "NCIS" seems to be absolutely loaded with subtext, much to my delight. ♥ Perhaps, it's because the actors have such amazing chemistry together? I don't really have an OTP in "NCIS" since there are so many pairings I like.
