Quick Notes about the Hottest 'Ship Polls

1 - We will once again have to post do-overs for our most recent polls. It's been almost a month and I've barely gotten through all votes for the first match up of Round #4 - Buffy/Spike vs. Leonard McCoy/Spock. At this rate, I may finish by early 2010. *g* So unfortunately if we want to crown our 2009 champ in oh say 2009, we'll have to try this again. That brings me to note #2.

2 - WE NEED YOU! We need volunteers who may have an hour or two to spare to do spot-checks every so often during voting. See something fishy, check it out while the poll is open and in progress, so that we can avoid the task of checking over 700 LJs once the poll has closed. Leave me a comment if you're willing to help us out. (Comments screened)

3 - Poll time! We want to know what you think about the idea of members-only voting. It would help us keep the socks away. But I know some believe it will take the joy and fun out of activity for them; the rallying of the troops, gathering other like-minded fans to support their favorites. So I'm stuck. This was supposed to be all about the FUN; about discovering new obsessions, re-discovering old loves, community... FUN FUN FUN! But it's been nothing but a headache for this mod and I'm trying to get that loving feeling back so we can go back to the happy-making part and finish this out on a high note. Hottest 'Ship 2009

1- Polling will resume tonight @ 10 PM EST. There will be no do-overs. We are picking up exactly where we left off.

2 - Polls will be set to members/friends only. The community is currently set to moderated membership. If you decide to join we'll be accepting new members once we've had a looksie to make sure that the journal in question isn't a sock. Lurkers are fine. Once we crown our #1 you're more than welcome to pack your bags if you're no longer interested in being a member of this community. No worries.

3- We'll be setting up individual threads for each 'ship so that members or readers who are having trouble loading the entries (because of picspams or wathever) can more easily get to the 'ship they are interested in.

4 - If you have ideas or suggestions on how to make this process a little lot smoother next year, please feel free to drop us a line. I would certainly appreciate any help you guys can offer.
