Thanks so much for sharing how you came to see the love between Kirk and Spock -- very cool. I'm so glad that the story worked for you, and I completely understand what you mean about feeling a certain reverence toward them. I think that's why my first brush with the idea of K/S gave me such a shock. I think it's partly the mythical qualities of the characters, and partly that their relationship is so rich on screen that you don't want anything to tarnish that.
