I just read your manifesto, and I cannot agree more with all of your opinions. You basically voiced my heart out :) Thank you for writing and sharing! It's too bad that most people do not know Escaflowne due to its old release date. When I first saw Escaflowne, I fell in love with it and got my hopes up for animes that are as good or better than Escaflowne. I was wrong and it remains as one of my favorite series. When I watched the series again in my recent winter break, I cried through the ending and thought that the series is so sad - Allen's loss of his sister, Hitomi's uncertainty about her feelings, Van's resentment (not quite the word) towards Folken, Folken's innocent wish to lift the burden off Van's shoulders, Isaac's ideal ambition that turned out wrong... and so on. Anyway, I love the series, and wanted to thank you for writing and sharing the love for Escaflowne.
