I hate being so typically superficial, but my main aversion to this pairing is "Ew, old people doing it!" Seriously. Of course there's also Sybil, her devotion and her quirks, all of which I adore and would hate to write off as 'boring.' But mostly it's the old people thing.
I approach V&V fanfiction in a looking-over-can't-look-away manner, and more often than not it is very good fanfiction authored by the sort of intelligent writers who make up the bigger part of PTerry's fandom. I'm curious because this pairing is a classic benefactor/beneficiary relationship and on one hand presents a very attractive concept, especially since one need not try too hard to see it in the books, but over and over again I realize that while I might entertain random musings of V&V slash I don't actually want to read about it.
