Yay, you discussed the NYTW lyrics to Goodbye Love! Interestingly, the canon version of that song always sounds more slashy to me than the NYTW-- I think it's because the re-write replaced their "I love you"s with the "I Should Tell You" music, which automatically associates Roger's relationship with Mark to his relationship with Mimi. (But then, I've been known to describe Goodbye Love and What You Own as "Mark and Roger break up and make up." :-D )
Also, thanks for the recs! I'm pretty sure there's some stuff in there I haven't read, so I'm headed off to do that now. Great essay!
