Understand the anon-blocking entirely; I really need to just sit down and get an LJ account but the time to do so would come out of my fic reading moments.
I guess I'm sensitive about Heyer because my sister was always on my case about that book in particular (although I read Nabokov's Ada as often). Now I'm all motivated to go out and find a copy and see how it's held up after all this time.
As for finding the G/S pairing plausible, I'm still at the phase of being surprised that I like slash at all. makd and I were talking about it and both of us came to the conclusion that it's largely due to people like you who create such dense and convincing stories.
