Yes; I trawled through the transcripts but it's true; they were in the same room in season two; once in the fight at the church and, of course, when Giles is attacking, and later being tortured by Angelus, but face to face chat? Pangs. Which is just so very wrong...
The Angel outside bit came to me just before I posted the essay so I added it very hastily ;-)
