Oh, where would be the fun in that? This way you get the added satisfaction of making people flail around helplessly when they say they read a good fic and someone wants to know what it was called! (I am quite glad you ended up sharing it with a wider audience, title or no.)
I expect Wodehouse had Ganymede's "cupbearer" role in mind, but was he blind to the other implications? One can only wonder...
I rather wonder about that myself. I vaguely recall hearing that they used to edit some of the more... interesting bits of mythology, so it's possible the non-cupbearing implications were less overt in Wodehouse's time. I prefer to think he did know, however, just because it makes life that little bit more interesting. ^_~
