The essay has some very good points, but I think it would be stronger with actual examples from the manga (MORE IMAGE CODING YAY >>;)
But since you mentioned Orihime, I was wondering if you should mention Tatsuki, since Tatsuki is somewhat like Rukia. But she can't/won't get close to Ichigo.
