This is very nicely written! ^^ It had an open feel, despite it's focus on the IchiRuki ship.
As I started reading Bleach, I really liked the interaction between Ichigo and Rukia. They were my first Bleach "OTP!" Now, though Orihime is my favorite female character (Ichigo being my favorite male/overall character in Bleach.) and there is something I admire about her feelings for Ichigo and her desire to walk beside him, rather than behind him, I agree with you that Orihime should experience some of her own personal growth; I would love that for her character. ^^
Ichigo and Rukia's relationship has many layers (one of the things I love about the manga; the characters and their bonds) and I think theirs has more "potential" for romance.
