I always was fascinated by the dynamic between Buffy and Giles. Between Slayer and Watcher. Honestly, I think he's largely the only person in her life who truly understands what it means to live her life. He's pushed her to have a life outside of being the Slayer but he also understands what - sometimes it seems better than she does - import it needs to have in her life.
