Scheduling and Hiatus

We'd like to let all our readers know that there are no scheduled essays from November 1 to November 8, so don't panic when you don't see any more essays.

Any author who was not able to finish his or her essay on or before his or her own scheduled date is welcomed to post during this week. Moreover, after November 8, pairings that had been originally assigned but never completed will be offered to any writer who is interested in doing an essay. If you have started an essay but have not been able to finish it in time, and still would like to submit it, please contact the mods.

Okay -- I have been a bit late on my last essay (originally due on Friday, but I can finish it up over the weekend and post it next week).

I'm afraid RL came up and bit me over the last month - I'm still doing my essay but it's only half finished. I'll try and post it over the weekend if I can. I'm really sorry for the delay though.

I'm still working on the Stargazer (Alex/Isabel) essay, which I'm supposed to post today. Some school stuff and real-life stuff has come up over the last week that has put me considerably behind schedule, so barring a massive surge in creative powers in the next few hours, I'd like to post in early November.

I apologize for the delay. :(

ohhhh crap

[identity profile] alexevans.livejournal.com 2004-11-08 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I apologize again for the delay. Things have been hectic with my schoolwork as well as TAing - somehow, more things I *have* to do keep appearing.

I definitely want to finish my essay but at this point will probably not be able to shove myself out from under until after classes end. :(

Isabel is my favorite character on Roswell. :) Or, you know, anywhere. :D

I meant to post again by the end of the hiatus week if I wasn't able to finish my essay but I somehow confused the deadline with one for one of my classes and thought it was tomorrow.

Has Mal/Inara from 'Firefly' been assigned and/or written?
If not, can I apply to write it?

[identity profile] mod-journal.livejournal.com 2004-11-01 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
Mal/Inara has already been claimed and the essay should go up sometime this week. However, you can tackle it in the near future if you'd like and if your interpretation/take differs from the original poster's.

work and illness have blocked me from finishing my Beka/Trance (Andromeda) essay on time. I still want to post it, but I'm not sure I'll be able to finish it by the end of this week. I'll try my hardest.

I pushed your deadline back to November 20. Hope that helps.

My writing schedule has been hit hard by my RL work and travel schedule and I know my Archer/Reed essay will not be complete on Nov 16. Could I please request a date after the first week of December, since the Thanksgiving holidays will ease the crunch for me. Thank you.

I have a scheduled essay for December 7th, Daisuke/Ken from Digimon. I need to postpone until February because of work conflicts. 80 hour work-weeks are just not making it possible for this essay to be a priority right now, but I do still want to do it.

Hello, I'm asking for a particular situation in which the manifesto well-exceeds (as in, hopelessly so) the lengths assigned by the rules.

It's basically a NaruSaku (Naruto) manifesto that's I've been working on for over half a year now. I wanted it to be as comprehensive as possible because the thing about the pairing is that it develops very Gradually, and has many small moments describing that growth instead of just a few flashy scenes.

Now on the issue of length, it not only exceeds the 5000 words limits (try currently 15,000, and that's without some extras that should push it to 20,000), and will take up 3 posts. I can show you the two works in progress (friends-locked currently, not that I can't add someone to the list temporarily), though I'm not forcing you to read it.

What I'm asking is the permission to do the following:
- have the manifesto considered as an entry to this journal
- have the multiple main sections posted in my own journal instead to not take up multiple posts in this one
- have the one post here fake-link to those multiple parts
- the only thing that will eventually be posted "here" is the extensive index (in a real-cut).

Is this acceptable?
