Round 4, Part II
Changing Your Vote: After you vote in a poll, you can change your answers by clicking on the poll number, and then clicking the [ Fill out Poll ] link at the top of the page.
Please feel free to skip over any pairings you're not familiar with or have little interest in.
The following 'ships have already qualified to move on to the final showdown whether they win this round (tourney brackets) or not. This round is to determine the top dog of each individual bracket and maybe get an idea of how the voting will go come finals time. THIS IS FOR BRAGGING RIGHTS! Good Luck.
[Poll #1466114]
Poll will be re-open at 10 AM EST tomorrow and remain open until 10 PM EST Thursday, October 8th.

Really, these polls have surprised me in many other ways too. I was pleasantly surprised to see Haku/Chihiro make it all the way to Round 4, shocked at some popular slash pairings losing to het pairings (which does prove that slash isn't the be-all, end-all for many fans), and bowled over by Carmen/Waldo (is that even a legitimate pairing?) actually winning against two other ships.
And I'm still surprised at how Arnold/Helga made it all the way to here against other ships with definite popularity and support.

Bleach shipping wars scare me a little *shudders*
Other fandoms have surprised me as well. On the FMA fandom, Roy/Riza are still going strong. Ed/Winry was defeated a long time ago, and RoyEd (probably the most popular pairing) is losing this round. Sometimes I just don't know what's the people thinking xD

I'm surprised that Roy/Ed is losing so badly too, but I think it might have to do with Haku/Chihiro being the kind of "classic" pairing that pretty much everybody knows and likes, as Haro once said before. I know that I voted for Haku/Chihiro because it was my first ever anime OTP. It'd also explain why so many of the classic Disney pairings are doing exceptionally well and how Simba/Nala is managing to give Zuko/Katara a very tough fight.

I agree that the "classic pairing" argument works well for Simba/Nala's case. Still, the Zuko/Katara fandom is a BIG one (as big as Sasuke/Naruto), so it's still surprising for me...

There are a load of surprises in this thing. I mean, I never would have dreamed that Arnold/Helga would get this far or, for that matter, Elle/Emmet from Legally Blonde. It's all really interesting.

Naruto. Those ship wars are bloody insane. (and I was in the Bleach and Avatar fandoms as well;; *has seen it all*)

Really scary, those ones >_<
You're right, apparently, the bloodiest shipping wars are between het shippers. That isn't to say that slash shippers can't make a war; in FMA, you'll find that most of Ed/Winry bashers were Roy/Ed or Ed/Al fans. I say were because nowadays Ed/Winry bashers are rare. But they were really common about 2 or 3 years ago.
As for slash based fandoms, I'm not sure. From what I've seen (only Hetalia), there isn't an explicit wars, but more like an underground hating. However, popular pairings tend to be really hated specially by minor pairings shippers. So it's not like we don't have problems at all; in fact, we have to be extremely careful with what we post and say >_
