ADMIN

'Free Month' is now officially over and along with that so is the amnesty for all late essays. The master list has been updated to reflect that.

I'm kind of disappointed that no one participated in the free month. I'd thought that the idea would appeal to time-challenged fen who wished to join in and share their OTP/OT3/OT-everybody love, but didn't have the time or inclination to research. Eh we'll probably attempt it again in the near future, despite last month's results. So look out for that!

I think the idea was brilliant. I was tempted to write an essay or something but then I thought that Nakaya/Fuse needs a bigger text. It's too unknown.

However, I think the idea is wonderful and I hope to see a similar month again. ♥

Well, it was NaNoWriMo as well. That could be it.

I was just going to say this. So many people were distracted.

Oh, I had Ideas for 3 essays, but since I had Mini-NaNoWriMo and Yuletide breathing down my neck ...

^^; I wanted to join in but didn't have time. And a lot of people were doing NaNoWriMo, like people were mentioning. Another one comes around, I'd participate.

I'd completely forgotten about Free Month. I think doing it during NaNoWriMo and the holiday ficathon season was not the best timing. Please do it again!

I don't know how many fests there are then, if any. What about March?

It was a kickass concept. And now I'm facepalming because I remembered at the last minute, attempted to get it done, then gave a sigh of despair when midnight passed and I hadn't finished.

*sigh* I've just been shit for deadlines lately. I just want to say I'm sorry for not getting it done, and I'm going to go focus on not screwing up with Yuletide.

It's also finals/Christmas/holidays so people might have a bit more time another month. I know that was the case with me.

The whole 'free month' thing slipped right past me, but I'll be watching for it next time. I love the idea of a Top Ten list about my ships, etc.

I think the difficulty is due to the fact that some of these manifestos can take a long time to finish, so even if people were interested, they didn't have time to complete a work before the time limit was up. :(

You forgot to add my name for the Naruto x Sakura manifesto (fandom: Naruto) in the master list, by the way. :(

Though I suppose it isn't a big deal. ^^

Quick question: I was busy these past few months with RL and didn't have time to work on my essay much. If I'm interested in picking up the same pairing in the future, am I allowed to do that? It's yet to be represented by another author.

I really wanted to write a follow-up to my first essay, because I've done a lot more research, but I got so caught up in school I forgot all about it.

Probably a more important question, am I allowed to do a "Part II" to my first essay? I would be more than happy to add it in the next free month.

Unforgivable newbie here :), but

Why is it "free month"? Er, is it only that past-due-dated essays are allowed?

And, since it doesn't say in the rules, er, are there restrictions on submitting things here, or can you just post?

Thanks,
C
