I believe a lot of people like Ed and Al together, but they also rant about 'They're brothers!' thus they went over to HeixEd instead, which I find annoying.
Hei is like a replacement of Al. Having HeixEd is unfair to both Hei and Al. Hei as an replacement of Al in Ed's eye, and Al for being replaced with another person.
I think people who liked HeixEd were originally Elric fans, but since they think incest is 'wrong', thus they replace Al with Hei who's supposed to be identical to Al by look and personality. -sigh- I feel sorry for Al...
Bet BONES also appreciated the strong bonds between Ed and Al, but because of the whole incest issue, they made up this Heiderich character.
Aside from this. I wonder if you mind putting up a theory about 'Ed being afraid of that Al might hate him'? It happened in both anime and manga, and I think it could be another great part of this entry.
