Because every hero's heart deserves a home, and in the entire canon of either series, I have never seen either Buffy or Angel want, need or trust anyone or anything quite the way they want need and trust each other. And I think they deserve that much, at the very least.

This is almost the exact reason I recently gave for being a B/A shipper (although my words weren't as pretty). What it all boils down to for me is that they make each other happy, they want each other, and I think both of them deserve to get what they want and be happy for once. I would have liked to have gotten to see them get to know each other and fall in love again on screen, but I'll just have to rely on fanfic for that.
