Dol's theory, one that has totally swayed me, is that both Oz and Willow *sensed* that most of her sexuality was focused on women. He pets her a lot, holds her, backs up her babbling, but there's none of the intense heat he shows with Veruca. His question to Tara in NMR - his voice breaking, does she *love* you? - has always suggested to me that they might have settled on something like a division between sex and love. Willow might want other people, in her unformed way, but love was for Oz.

The question becomes, then, for me, what Oz got out of such a desexualized relationship - Mono/Chrome was one way for me to try and answer that, as was the Oz/Tara/Willow.
