i agree that brian can change. however, i don't think michael would stand up to him and openly contradict him like that. you know, asking for a monogamous relationship. michael's always been there for him, and that's another reason brian knows he can count on him. he's nonjudgemental. he doesn't say that brian can't sleep around or anything like that, and brian appreciates it and confides in him. if he starts to tell brian that brian can't do something, brian won't trust him as much anymore. justin can stand up to him and has, but even now they still have an open relationship. (not that open relationships are bad, lots of gay couples have them before either becoming monogamous or splitting) but eventually, i think justin will get fed up and so will michael(a least for a little while). this will probably result in brian's realization that he can't live without them, and they will all make up.
