I really liked this essay. I started to like Ryan and Theresa when they made love because there was so much chemistry in that scene. With Ryan and Marissa, there has been zero chemistry at all. I really wish the writers would stop putting Ryan and Marissa together. For one thing, I hate Mischa Barton's acting, and I just don't think they are a good couple. Ryan and Theresa have substance, Ryan and Marissa are bland and are just not believable.
I haven't watched this season yet, so I don't know any details about what has happened, but it always seemed to me that the main focus of the show was Ryan/Marissa, that the writers were trying to write a lovestory about a rich girl and a boy from the wrong side of the tracks, and that they would always be "meant to be". I hope I'm wrong. It's just not working for me.
I fully support bringing Theresa back and making Ryan/Theresa a long lasting relationship. They're good together. Plus, I love Navi Rawat as an actress. She was amazing in the episode of Angel she was in (Damage), and I know she would be a good regular cast member.
