It'll be interesting to see what the manga makes Kanou like, given he's appeared briefly in it (so we know he exists) but hasn't been around for more than a few pages. I admit I'd like to see Kaoru turn up in the manga . . . (Poor Sakura never had a chance. A cloth-wielder is at a significant natural advantage against a pyrokinetic. Though Himiko _won_ that fight, dammit.)

I think it may depend a bit on how well the characters are defined. The ones that are defined _clearly_, such as Amon, one can port either way, from manga-anime or anime-manga.
