This scene was the first time I ever had a mental S/X moment. I had never read fanfic, never slashed anyone, not even mentally, and, sad to say, apart from a few silly grins, the moment passed into oblivion. I didn't discover the joys of S/X until months later, and even then it was only by accident.

You've brought up at least one point I hadn't considered - them both resorting to magic for love. I knew it, I just hadn't made the connection.
