Wonderful, wonderful essay... but you left out the tearful Romeo and Juliet ending! (Okay, so Reed didn't die. But you get my point.)

Watching Enterprise, I seriously believed they were going towards canonical Reed/Hayes. Really. I have so rarely believed that about other couples I've slashed.
