i'm so laaaate on this because i forgot that this community existed. but i love this essay-- and there's even so much MORE to say, isn't there-- and i love the buffy/faith dynamic. (i actually only really skirt the edges of btvs fandom in terms of fic, but this is one of the few non-canonical pairings i really obsess over). word to what you said in a comment about about physicality and body language. in every scene that smg and eliza share, i'm just blown away by the interaction between them, how charged the space between them always seems-- and i love the way they imitate each other so well in the body-switch, too.
