While I would disagree that Beverly and Picard's friendship is "calm and polite" - it is Beverly, no one else, he allows to sit with him after the mind meld with Sarek as he cries out in anguish - I would certainly agree that it is Q, and Q alone, who inspires the most passionate emotions we see from him, albeit mostly annoyance.
I do agree that Q is most definitely into Picard, although reciprocation I'm not sure about - I think Picard is much more suited to Beverly than Q - but it is certainly a fascinating look at one of the most prominent homoerotic subtexts in modern Trek, and very well written. Thank you!
