Do Over #1 - Round 3 - Part I

Alllrighty then! I'm too lazy to pick out exact pages or recap all the scenes, but this should at least show you which chapters to peek at. I present: the abridged history of UlquiHime!

Chapter 234: Ulquiorra says "Come with me, woman," and the ship sets sail with a skeleton crew of crackheads.

Chapter 247: Ulquiorra has more conversation with Orihime, conspiciously starting off with a compliment on how she looks in her new Arrancar outfit. More people hop on board for some delicious crack.

Chapter 249: Nnoitra interrupts Ulquiorra's thoughts about Orihime to make lewd suggestions and lure more poor innocent youth aboard the crack ship.

Chapter 262: Ulquiorra announces his entry into Orihime's room this time, thus proving he is already pussywhipped. Between this, his suggestive lines about force-feeding, his "I'm not here to comfort you" protesting too much, and the EPIC SLAP (oh, and him listening to her crying afterwards), suddenly the little crack ship was being swarmed with refugees from Ichihimestan.

Chapter 316: After having to survive over 50 chapters on just a few ambiguous looks and other meager rations, suddenly the starving teeming masses aboard the ship reach the glistening shores of a land flowing with milk and honey and EYESMEX.

Chapter 317: And then Ulquiorra gives "the heart speech." New immigrants start arriving in droves. The ship is suddenly a lot busier as trade flows through our new bustling port town, and the crack cocaine is now being made into Coca-Cola which looks surprisingly legitimate.

Chapter 340: The Ulquiorra and Ichigo showdown properly begins. The ship has now grown to Titanic proportions, and all eyes are on this voyage to see if the monstrosity will sink or not.

Chapter 353-354, The Ash/The Heart: During a masquerade party on the main deck, one of the drunken revelers has his mask knocked off and to everyone's shock, it is revealed that KUBO HAS BEEN ON BOARD ALL THIS TIME.

But if you want the more srsbzns version (SPOILERS):

Basically, Aizen needed Orihime as a diversion, so Ulquiorra was put in charge of abducting her and subsequently taking care of her. Background, Ulquiorra is a materialist and an emotional nihilist, who routinely labels humans as "trash" and seems to have major issues with the (metaphorical) human "heart" that he lacks as a Hollow. He opens holes in his enemies' chest in the same place as his own to advertise his emptiness, and tells Orihime that this "heart" humans speak of must not exist if his eyes can't see it. The truth is that he's in denial because he's been feeling all sorts of trashy human emotions since he met the girl. :P Ichigo comes to take Orihime from Ulquiorra, notes that Ulquiorra seems to have become more human, Ulquiorra goes BOOM, and we get the battle of the 7 Sins. The end of it leaves Ulquiorra maimed and disintegrating into ashes, but... I'll copy the rest from

Ulquiorra then turned to Orihime in his last moments, expressing his interest in humans and extending his only hand towards her...
"Am I frightening?" he asked her.
She was a little taken aback at first, but gathered herself and walked towards him.
"No, you're not," she answered.
"I see," Ulquiorra said.
Before Orihime could grab hold of his hand, the Espada dissolved into the wind.
Meanwhile, the hearts conversation he had with Orihime relived in Ulquiorra's mind. The girl's figure blurred out front of his eyes. Before the last sentence of that conversation had finished replaying...
I see...
Orihime grabbed his hand but failed to hold on. She reached out again, even though his body was crumpling into ash. From between her fingers she saw him with an expression she never thought he was capable of... so gentle, longing, yet full of sadness. Then Ulquiorra faced away as his entirety disappeared...
This thing in my hand...
Is a heart.

Last we've seen of Ulquiorra so far is a splash page where his Hollow hole is filled. ♥ (The "camera" immediately moved to other characters, so we haven't seen ~~what's left of~~ those three since April.)

Ulquiorra is an Arrancar (Hollow/Shinigami hybrid), and we don't yet know what happens to them when they die. Also, we're not sure if he was purified by a zanpakuto, since Ichigo was in a brand-new crazyferal Hollow form when he killed him.

That said, there's been a lot of talk about hearts in this arc (most recent chapter: "You got a broken heart? I'm surprised! I thought you Hollows had no hearts!"), so there might be something to that filled hole, after all. Or Orihime resurrects him. :)
