No, I'm trying to watch it all in order. I know about the ST universe from TNG and Voyager, and from my Mum telling me about it, and I've seen the odd episode that I can barely remember because I wasn't really watching it, it was just on while my Mum was watching it. I only started getting into it recently, partly because I wanted to make some fanvids for my Mum and partly because I was curious about seeing the first show to officially be slashed, but my God, if I'd only known what I'd been missing! Because I thought, being from the 60s, there wouldn't be much in the way of subtext, y'know because back then, their mindset on homosexuality... although it was also the era of the hippies with free love & all that...
Anyway, I'm up to Arena now. I'm gonna try and get through at least season 1 & 2 over the Easter long weekend, but we'll see how that goes. I'm looking forward to Amok Time though. Those quotes you gave, are they from that episode, or another one?
