Heh. Well, yes. There certainly is that objection to any Snape pairing, and there's not much anyone can say to get around it. I think one of the first things anyone said to me when I said OMG SNAPE/HARRY OBVIOUSLY OMG was, "Um. Snape? Is GREASY. And GROSS. And EW." I just ... I don't know. We see him through Harry's eyes, and Harry is not so objective. So I'm inclined to cut Snape a little bit of slack on account of the voice and the eyes and the hands and the way he moves.

And then there are the people who just don't like Snape, full stop, no matter what he looks like. And I get that, sort of -- the man IS an utter, utter sonofabitch. No getting around it, IMO. But I've loved some utter assholes in my life, so why not Snape?

But anyway. I'm glad you read and liked my essay, appeal or no. :D
