I loved Black Books when it came out on TV here - I think they only showed us one or two seasons, which I was very sad about. The thought of this pairing crossed my mind so many times, but I figured that it's not a very popular series and there isn't a fandom for it. You can imagine my surprise when I saw this manifesto!
And boy, am I glad that I did see it. This reminded me so much why I loved the series in the first place, what I loved about the characters (Bernard Black has to be one of favourite fictional people, ever) and what I loved about the lovely, lovely Bernard/Manny subtext.
And the fics! I was so convinced there'd be none. After I post this comment, I'm off to read. Squee!
I'll probably be buying the DVD-set, too, if/when I've the money for it. Because owning some class British comedy on DVD is wonderful.
