I literally couldn't read through Twilight, let alone the series(vampires in sunlight? First person narrator whinier than the Napa valley? (if that doesn't make sense, say it aloud) No thanks), but as an outsider looking in I was always disappointed Bella chose Edward rather than Jacob and this explains why perfectly. It's kind of sad that Bella's a non-protagonist in the series where she's a central character, though.
