I dont ship LxMisa, mainly because I think Misa's devotion and love for Light is absolute, but even so I can see the possibility of there being something between L and Misa, most of which you summed up here very nicely ^^. Even if i dont like them together in a romantic sense, i do love the idea of them being friends.
!!! SOME SPOILERS AHEAD FOR ~"L CHANGE THE WORLD"~ !!! Iv read the novel "L-Change the World" and it reveals that L is indeed a big fan of Misa. It turns out he has a collection of her merchandise kept away in a drawer, he's jealous that Maki knew Misa before she became famous, he asks Maki for photos of Misa from the time they went to the beach together and when Misa makes a brief appearance at one of her concerts the book says that L cheers along with all the other preteen girls and says to Maki that he wants an autographed teddy bear. All of this indicates that L most likely has a fanboy sort of crush on Misa (although personally i couldnt see him actually dating her).
However in "Death Note- How to Read 13" one of the creators says that L was probably lying when he said to Misa he could fall for her ( after which is the sentence "the truth is he's a liar" ).
