Ah, constructive criticism. It's what I live for. :D
As far as the whole manifesto, I was more concerned with making sure that anyone could read it and make sense of it, as I know that unfortunately everyone is not a NANA fan. If I get time though, perhaps I'll elaborate on some moments. Also, I wanted to make sure I met the deadline, as I'm awful with those.
As far as the engagement ring scene goes, I see things just a bit differently. Takumi told her that 90% of his time would be dedicated to his work, and even if it may seem horrible to some people, I can totally relate. Not that it really matters, but even if I haven't been in a relationship for quite some time, I too treasure my ambitions and if I were to have a loved one, they would have to come second. That's probably why I'm not in a relationship now. ^_^;
But anyways, back on topic. The beautiful thing I saw in the scene was that even though Takumi said that his mind is almost completely dedicated to his work, he would not let Hachi suffer. But I suppose, from the perspective of someone like Hachi, she probably would have been a bit upset, so you did bring up a good point.
The relationship is sort of sad in the aspect that Hachi hasn't told Takumi to his face that she loved him (even if she did tell Junko she did), but it's an interesting point you bring up about Takumi feeling insecurity in the relationship. If I do get around to adding more, I'll be sure to list that as a possibility.

But anyways, thanks for the criticism!
