I'm really, really happy you liked the essay so much ... I can't decide which makes me happier, to hear that it helped bring new people into the fandom or to hear from older fans that it reminds them of all they love about the show. The latter is particularly nice, though, because I'm incredibly glad to know that I succeeded in articulating the appeal. Thank you so much for telling me :-)

And re: Bodie - you're right that Man Without a Past is an exception. But I'm not quite sure how much of one. We do see his rage, his fury - but that could be attributable to a sort of damaged pride - someone hurt something of his - and to general human compassion, which I do believe he possesses (a good example is Frances in A Hiding to Nothing). There's not much sign that he truly loves her or that she means a lot to him. She's not on screen very much, so it's difficult to know what to make of her; so in the end I can't give her *too* much weight.

But it may also be that I wasn't clear enough about what I meant by "remorseless disregard" - it's not so much that I think he doesn't care, that he's ruthless, as it is that in the end his birds are simply fairly unimportant to him - as you say, they're not much of a factor in the long term, and he'll drop them in a second without much regret. And they don't stand a chance against Ray and CI5 ...

You know, I could discuss this stuff forever!

Anyway, I am simply overjoyed that you are feeling the onset of a Pros "revival"! Oh, there is so much to love about the show, about B & D; I never tire of it. The vids are definitely wonderful ... I'm so happy the Media Cannibals remastered AFIB, which is one of my absolute favorite vids, and I'm helping them remaster some of their others; with any luck we'll have more.

Also, don't know if you know, but I run the Circuit Archive - the online archive, I mean (http://www.thecircuitarchive.net (http://www.thecircuitarchive.net)). I did a big overhaul of it last year, and there are now about 1300-1400 stories on it - as well as an increasing number of vids (and also art!) (I'm a big proponent of online fic, but personally I love zines - I prefer reading from paper, and I tend to buy zines I like even if the stories are already online). I particularly love PR Zed's Pros vids and some of LithiumDoll's - particularly Friday I'm in Love, but I'm biased about that one :-). But if there's anything at all that I can do, now or ever, to help with your revival (and of course if you write stories and want a place to archive them) please do not hesitate to write me!

Thank you again - it still gives me such a kick to get a comment about this. :-)
